• Decades of quality service and Commercial Real Estate expertise • Ottawa born; local experience
• Lease Audit history; in depth understanding of Operating Costs
• Leasing Specialist; office space in particular
Mr. Brodie has been involved in the Ottawa commercial real estate industry since 1974 and a Broker in his own right for most of that period.
Some of his more formative experience was gleaned in the early eighties. This is credited in no small measure to tenures spent with Minto Construction and (then) Campeau Corporation, the latter of whose large property holdings became vast with the takeover of the Admiral Lease - holds portfolio.
Even years before that, however, Joel had already been deeply immersed in sales and leasing and was an integral part of the team assembled to originally lease Kent Square, a core office building constructed by Cadillac-Fairview and located at 255 Albert Street.
For many of his more recent years, Joel has focused more pointedly on the Tenant Representation side of the industry. Some of this time was devoted to Lease audit. In addition, he performed many other specialized asset disposal functions on behalf of one of his main clients, Canada Council. The Tenant perspective has served to enhance his expertise and provide great balance to his understanding of tenant client needs, which benefits both Tenants and Landlords alike.
Joel has represented a host of companies with both international and local prominence including; Fujitsu Canada, American Express, Konica Minolta, Clarica/Sun Life, EDS, Tarion, TYCO, St. John Ambulance, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, Embassy of Belgium, Embassy of Chile, Telesat Canada, Adecco, Ajilon, and the Canadian Mathematical Society.
In Joel, the client benefits from an individual who is a task oriented, hard working and perceptive professional representative; organized and thoughtful in his approach, realistic and honest in his assessments.
In 2013-2014, Joel served on the Board of Directors, Ottawa Real Estate Board and as the Chairman of its Commercial Services Division.
